Happiness Is: Cherry Blossoms

These are some photos I snapped during a walk in Central Park last weekend, aren't they stunning? I feel so lucky to live near two beautiful, large parks in a city where outdoor space is really something special to be cherished. While I sometimes dream about living in some of the “cooler” neighborhoods, like the West Village, I would miss our easy park access immensely. Here are a few things that are making me happy lately:
  1. Blossoming trees and the tulips that seem to be planted under almost every tree on the sidewalks.
  2. Simple, carefree dates with the boy.
  3. Lip gloss.
  4. Fresh spring peas and fava beans.
  5. Dreaming about the future. Making plans so those dreams come true.
  6. Water with fresh squeezed lemon juice.
  7. Yoga.
  8. The smell of lavender.
  9. The boy’s manners and how he always opens the car door for me.
  10. When my parents come to visit.

p.s. For those of you celebrating cinco de mayo, here are a few of my favorite Mexican recipes blood orange margaritas, chilaquiles, and pomegranate, avocado, and orange salsa.
