New York's Wholesale Flower Market

Fiery orange roses

One of my favorite New York discoveries, thus far, has to be the wholesale flower market. On 28th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue, the market is made up of individual shops specializing in beautiful fresh flowers, vases, silk plants and flowers, ribbons, garden statues, you name it. The best part is that you don’t need a license to shop there as it opens to the public starting at 8 am, before that it’s for professional florists only. Well worth a visit for everyone, and certainly where I’ll be buying my flowers from in the future. Just remember to get there early, as the flowers do start to sell out in the late morning or early afternoon.
