Franklin Fountain

On our very last day in Philadelphia, we celebrated out time in the city with a trip to Franklin Fountain, a place I had wanted to try since first arriving in the city. The shop looks like an authentic ice cream parlor and soda fountain and the ice cream is made in the Berks and Lancaster Counties and processed at a family-owned dairy. Maybe it's the attention to doing things old-school, but the ice cream is smooth and delicious and the milkshakes are super yummy. I indulged in a chocolate malt milkshake, which came served in an ice cream glass with paper straw and everything. Boy was it good, and boy was it a great way to say goodbye to Philly.
