London City Guide: Dining

While the British aren't necessarily known for their gourmet cooking, that doesn't mean it's hard to find a great meal in London. In fact, London is especially great for Indian cuisine lovers, with plenty of delicious restaurants offering authentic fare. For our Indian fix, we indulged ourselves at Cinnamon Club, which offers upscale Indian. The food was filled with traditional Indian ingredients but the flavors and presentation were brought up a notch. We also had a snack one afternoon of Indian food from the grocery section of Harrods which sells prepared food in a variety of ethnicities, either made in house or from local restaurants (in the case of the India, it was from Tamarind). And while we didn't dine at the restaurant, it's on our list of places to go next time, as the food we tried was delicious.

Besides Harrods' grocery section and its many restaurants, we also ate snacks/lunches at Paul, a French boulangerie which serves sandwiches and pastries, and LadurĂ©e, for delicious French macaroons.

Our favorite meal while in London was at Wahaca, a fresh, fare Mexican restaurant in Convent Garden. The food is delicious, the drinks are yummy (and strong), and best of all, it's relatively cheap! That said, a restaurant this good is certainly not a secret, so be prepared to wait for a table. But believe me, it's totally worth it.
